The Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) is a initiative administered by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). This program aims to incentivize homeowners by offering rebates for the installation of batteries. Eligibility for this rebate is contingent upon the storage capacity of the installed battery. Individuals residing in California who install a battery may qualify for this program.
It's important to note that the rebate amount under SGIP is subject to a tiered rate structure. Essentially, the earlier you apply for SGIP, the higher the rebate you stand to receive. This is due to the diminishing rebate amounts as more batteries are installed, making early application advantageous.
